The McLaren MSO team has unveiled the Feather Wrap, an unprecedented option package for the 570GT model. With its official release, this exclusive upgrade is the most unique of its kind.
Nearly 10,000 synthetic carbon fibers were used by McLaren’s special division MSO to adorn the two-door sports car’s body. It takes 300 hours to complete the entirely handcrafted process.
The British automaker’s 570GT is thought to be the best supercar to add this upgrade package to in order to be able to take part in lengthy trips like transcontinental flights.
The magnificent feathered wing, one of nature’s greatest inventions and a great aerodynamic tool, is without a doubt the most striking feature of this McLaren 570GT.
“Our engineers and designers have long drawn inspiration from nature to create cars with the lightest weight that can still be achieved,” says Robin Crane, McLaren Biosafety Specialist. the best feasible aerodynamics for driving This innovation is known as natural design.
We took a feather from the pigeons and placed it on the car, inspired by their beautiful flight around the lake on a gorgeous day while they were strolling around the McLaren campus. And for that reason, this Feather Wrap option is available.
The supercar’s synthetic hairs are 7 cm long and have a pearl primer applied to them. In order to lessen the effect of air flow on the body, the feathers are fastened to the car in a direction parallel to the length of the vehicle, with the hair tip facing forward. Reduced surface elongation is partly attributed to the bristles’ role as grooves.
The feathers vibrate as the car picks up speed, reducing air resistance even more. Furthermore, Feather Wrap only adds 2.5 kg to the car’s weight, or the same as a coat of metallic paint.
On April 1, 2017, the McLaren 570GT upgrade option featuring the world’s only Feather Wrap went on sale. Nonetheless, a lot of people continue to doubt the veracity of this McLaren creation because the announcement coincides with the “Fish” date of April.
