South Korean artist Zihwa Hongdae (aka Le jardin de Zihwa) creates feminine, fine-line tattoos in black ink that are inspired by nature. Her beautifully delicate tattoos are etched onto the wearer’s skin using an ultra-thin needle, resulting in detailed line-work and expert shading that resembles soft pencil sketches.
Describing her nature tattoos as “eternal springtime,” Hongdae’s blossoming portfolio focuses on intricate vines, delicate leaves, and weightless petals that seem to wrap around the wearer’s natural curves to complement her form. Other works feature portraits of wild animals emerging from flourishes of plant life. In one large back piece, the head of a majestic tiger is framed by roses and swirls of leaves. In another, two birds perched on a cherry blossom branch feature lifelike feathers rendered in the artist’s distinct razor-thin lines.
You can find more works from Hongdae’s portfolio on Instagram, and if you’d like to get inked yourself, you can visit the artist in her Seoul-based studio, Reindeer Ink.
