Striker Kylian Mbappe only accepts leaving PSG if it doesn’t cost too much compared to the income of $163 million including salary and loyalty fees in the remaining year of the contract.
On June 22, the PSG Community page reported that the Paris capital club agreed to sell Mbappe to Real for about $ 270 million. Accordingly, the Spanish team accepts to pay 215 million USD in advance, with 55 million USD in surcharges depending on the number of matches Mbappe plays for Real and whether he wins the Ballon d’Or.
But yesterday, Spanish newspaper Marca said that the deal is not so simple. According to this source, the French striker does not want to lose $163 million in the remaining one year of his contract with PSG. $65 million of which is salary, and $98 million in loyalty fees, according to terms signed in May 2022.

Mbappe sees the ideal scenario as continuing to play for PSG in the 2023-2024 season to receive the above amount. After that, the 24-year-old striker can negotiate with Real from January 2024 and then arrive at the Bernabeu on a free basis in the summer. He is expected to ask for a bribe of more than $100 million.
Marca emphasized that Mbappe only accepts a transfer to leave PSG this summer if it does not cost a lot of money. However, Real currently only offers Mbappe a season salary of $ 32 million, which is half of the current income at PSG. The reason is because they cannot pay high salaries and large bribes if they lose more than $ 270 million in transfer fees to PSG.
Therefore, PSG feels “cheated” and wants to sell Mbappe this summer. But Marca said the deal is not easy because it needs the consent of all three parties involved, including Mbappe, PSG and Real. The Ligue 1 champions understand that Mbappe has the edge in this negotiation, no matter how many ultimatums they offer.
One option considered by PSG is to significantly reduce the transfer fee from Real, if Mbappe accepts to leave this summer and waives the loyalty fee.
Earlier, according to ESPN, President Nasser Al Khelaifi accepted to sell Mbappe for over $ 160 million. This number is close to the $ 174 million that the Football Research Organization (CIES) recently announced, in the valuation table of the world’s top football superstars in 2023.
Mbappe moved to PSG in the summer of 2017 on loan from Monaco, before being bought permanently for $ 200 million. The French striker immediately became the mainstay of PSG with 212 goals and 98 assists in 260 matches in all competitions, helping the club win five Ligue 1, three French Cups, two French League Cups and two French Super Cups. However, in recent summers, he has made it clear that he wants to leave. On June 12, Mbappe sent a letter to the management to inform him that he would only comply with the contract until June 2024 and not activate the extension until June 2025. This means that PSG will lose this striker in the summer of 2024, if he cannot be sold on this occasion.
