Security was tightened in Cameroon when striker Kylian Mbappe visited his father’s hometown on July 6.
Mbappe was escorted by armored vehicles as he arrived in Cameroon.
As soon as he landed in the African country, the PSG striker was picked up and moved by an SUV. Accompanying Mbappe is a large security force in Cameroon. Armored vehicles were also mobilized to ensure the safety of the French striker.
In addition to visiting his father’s hometown, Mbappe also conducts charity programs at a number of local schools. On his personal page, the French striker shared a picture of being warmly welcomed by people in Cameroon.
Mbappe was born in the Bondy region, France. His father, Mr. Wilfried, is from Cameroon. Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, was born in Algeria. Mr. Wilfried and Mrs. Lamari are also the current representatives of Mbappe.
Before coming to Cameroon, Mbappe and his friends had a short trip to the US. The French striker has not yet returned to the army with PSG. European media reported that PSG is ready to sell Mbappe before the 2023/24 season starts. The statement of the captain of the French team on France Football a few days ago made the members of the Paris club angry.
“I think playing for PSG doesn’t help much because it’s a team full of divisions. Of course, there’s always gossip but it doesn’t bother me because I myself know what I’m doing and like that. Come on,” Mbappe told France Football on July 8.
Mbappe’s contract with PSG is valid until the summer of 2024. His intention is to complete the one-year contract then refuse to activate the option to renew to be left on a free basis. But PSG is ready to sell Mbappe right this summer to avoid losing everything next year.
