According to the CIES football data monitoring and research center, Mbappe’s current value is still behind many young colleagues like Saka, Foden or Musiala.
Kylian Mbappe (PSG – $174 million): Three years ago, Mbappe was valued by CIES as the most expensive player in the world ($283 million). Currently, the performance of “Ninja Turtle” has not shown any signs of decline. The French striker still scored 41 goals in 43 games for PSG in all competitions in the 2022/23 season. However, his valuation dropped by more than 100 million euros.
Phil Foden (Man City – $178 million): In the last season, Foden’s form declined, so he lost the main kick to Jack Grealish. However, the valuation for the 23-year-old player is still very high.
Jamal Musiala (Bayern – $182 million): Musiala played the role of Bayern’s savior with a goal to help the Bavarian team decide the 2022/23 Bundesliga championship race. At the age of 23, Musiala is one of the club’s untouchable names.
Gavi ($186 million) and Pedri ($190 million): Barcelona owns a midfield duo that is considered the future of the club and the Spanish national team. Both are young but show a mature and effective playing style.
Rodrygo (Real Madrid – 197 million USD): Rodrygo matures through each season and is one of the main strikers of the Royal Spanish team. Next season, Rodrygo is expected to inherit the number 11 shirt left by Marco Asensio.
Jude Bellingham (Dortmund – $203 million): Bellingham is considered one of the brightest young players in world football. The player born in 2003 is in talks to prepare to join Real Madrid, after giving the best for Dortmund.
Bukayo Saka (Arsenal – 209 million USD): Saka has just had a sublime season to help Arsenal win the Premier League runner-up, along with a ticket to the Champions League after a 6-year absence.
Vinicius (Real Madrid – 210 million USD): Vinicius is considered a treasure in the Real team. Next season, the young Brazilian star may be given the number 7 shirt, after Eden Hazard leaves.
Erling Haaland (Man City – $262 million): Sublime performance in Man City’s shirt (52 goals in 52 games) helps Haaland become the most valuable CIES player in the world today. Although the contract is still valid until the summer of 2027, Man City is still rushing to invite Haaland to extend.
