Lionel Messi chose 10 of his favorite teammates throughout his career, including two close friends Neymar and Suarez.
Lionel Messi began his professional career at Barcelona, where he scored 672 goals in 778 appearances and became one of the greatest players in football history.
Time at Barcelona also witnessed the peak of Messi and his teammates. Recently, in an interview with Titan Sports, the Argentinian striker named 10 teammates he liked the most in his career. Not surprisingly, most of them are one-time stars of the Camp Nou team.
The first person Messi mentioned was a Barca icon, Ronaldinho. He was one of the stars of the team in the 2000s with a beautiful style of playing 1-0-2. The next names on Messi’s list include teammates who stuck with him during the peak of his career.
“After Ronaldinho, it will be Deco, Eto’o, Luis Suarez, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets. I have been fortunate to play with the best players and enjoy the games with them. Speaking of enjoying football, I almost forgot about Neymar, there are so many teammates I love.”
Those are 8 names on Messi’s list. The other two, he chose Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Villa.
“There are certainly many players I will forget to mention here. I am fortunate to be alongside the best players, the best strikers, and indispensable Ibrahimovic and Villa.”
“I feel comfortable playing with them. Because I’m lucky to play with the best. It’s easy to play against them,” Messi said.
After leaving Barca in 2021, he has two years with PSG. During that time, the striker eventually won the only trophy he lacked in his collection, the World Cup.
Now, Messi continues his challenge at Inter Miami, where he reunites with former Barca teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
