Brazilian forward Neymar is back in the gym with Paris Saint-Germain, but Portugal’s Nuno Mendes has torn a tendon in his right hamstring, according to the French champions.
Mendes, 21, picked up a new hamstring injury over the summer, not during training, PSG stated, adding that he “will remain in treatment for the next few weeks.” Mendes first injured his thigh in May.
Neymar, 31, rejoins the team after having surgery on his right ankle in early March.
Neymar is anticipated to take part in some of the collective training this week after taking part in individual training on the field last week, according to PSG.
The players underwent physical and medical examinations before reporting to group training on Tuesday at the PSG Campus in Poissy, in the western suburbs of Paris.
Italian midfielder Cher Ndour, who won the European U19 championship on Sunday, is taking a break, while French 2018 World Cup winner and Achilles tendon injury sufferer Presnel Kimpembe is still recovering and is anticipated to return in early August.
