Paris Saint-Germain have announced the sale of Kylian Mbappé.
Due to his continuing refusal to sign a one-year contract extension, the French striker has been left out of PSG’s pre-season tour squad for their trip to Japan. The Parisian outfit are aiming to make money this summer as they will not let Mbappe walk away for free at the end of the 2023-24 season. This despite widespread speculation that he will sign with Real Madrid in the summer of 2019.
There is no doubt that several potential suitors will be lining up to sign the 2018 World Cup champion, who is considered by many to be the best player in the world. Ever since Mbappé left Monaco for PSG in the summer of 2017, Liverpool have been rumored to be interested in signing him.
However, rumors that Jurgen Klopp wants the 24-year-old at Anfield have persisted ever since.
On the Spanish television show El Chiringuito de Jugones earlier this month, journalist Edu Aguirre even claimed Liverpool had made a €200m offer for Mbappé.
According to Aguirre through AS, “An offer from Liverpool has arrived at the PSG offices in the last few hours.”
Liverpool arrived on the scene. For Mbappé, Liverpool have made an offer of 200 million euros. In the last few hours, an offer of 200 million euros from Liverpool has arrived at the PSG offices. Mbappé is for sale thanks to [Nasser] Al-Khelaifi.
Also, according to FIFA agent Marco Kirdemir, Liverpool were willing to spend 300 million euros on Mbappé.
During the next week there will be news, he promised. News from Germany and England will be available. Liverpool, which competes with Real Madrid, wants to spend a fortune, about 300 million euros, on Mbappé.
Although Mbappe’s skills are admired by Jurgen Klopp and every other manager and supporter in the world, a Liverpool transfer is highly unlikely.
Mbappé would be too expensive for Liverpool. PSG will likely try to recoup the full €180m transfer fee they paid to Monaco. The £75m the Reds paid for the record signing of Virgil van Dijk would be more than double that amount.
The 24-year-old also reportedly receives a weekly salary of more than £800,000. Compared to the massive £400,000 a week contract Mo Salah signed last summer, that’s 100% more.
Most significantly, a person familiar with Liverpool’s transfer policy has clarified why Mbappe will not be joining Jurgen Klopp’s team any time soon.
Ian Graham, the Reds’ former research director, was instrumental in the team’s hiring process until his departure at the end of the previous season and ruled out a potential trade.
Any statistical model will show you that Mbappé is the best player in Europe at the moment, Graham claimed in a May interview with the Cheltenham Science Festival, according to The Guardian.
“Unfortunately, he is not in the Liverpool league financially. The best performing players per pound are what we look for.
