According to The Athletic, PSG has just sent a three-page letter to Kylian Mbappe accusing the player of creating unrest for the team in this summer’s transfer window.
The Parc des Princes team accused Mbappe of causing “enormous damage” to the club after publicly stating that he had no intention of extending his contract. PSG said that this matter should have been kept private.
The Ligue 1 champion also said that the striker born in 1998 was “lack of sincerity” in making a notice not to renew his contract at a sensitive time of the summer transfer window.
The letter ends with PSG requesting a meeting to resolve the current situation. According to L’Equipe, PSG also set a deadline, July 31, for the French player to decide whether to extend his contract or be sold.
On July 6, PSG President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, admitted: “I was completely shocked when I heard that Mbappe wanted to leave on a free form. He is a great guy, a gentleman. Mbappe leaving as a free will weaken the biggest club in France. That’s not what Mbappe should do. His intentions make me very disappointed.”
Mbappe’s contract with PSG is valid until the summer of 2024. The intention of “Ninja Turtles” is to complete a year of the contract then refuse to activate the extension option to be left as a free agent.
