Cristiano Ronaldo is not only famous for his talent but also beloved for his generosity. The world-class striker has sought out his three benefactors at the McDonald’s restaurant who once helped him during his childhood.
According to Global Village Space, Paula Leca, a Portuguese woman, revealed that she was one of the McDonald’s employees who regularly gave food to Cristiano Ronaldo when he was a struggling young player.
Ronaldo appeared on ITV (UK) and talked about his childhood story. When he was young, he would often wait until the end of the day to receive meals from a McDonald’s restaurant in Portugal, where he lived.
“There was a McDonald’s next to our stadium. We would knock on the door and ask if they had any leftover burgers after work. There were always three women there, but later on, I didn’t see them anymore,” Ronaldo recalled.
Some time later, he returned but couldn’t find the place. When he asked the people around, they said that the McDonald’s had closed down and was no longer in operation. In the interview, the football superstar opened up: “I would be very happy if this conversation could help me find them.” Indeed, after the interview, he managed to find Paula Leca.
Responding to Portuguese radio station Renascenca, Leca shared, “The kids used to appear at the restaurant’s door after work, and the manager allowed us to bring them burgers. Back then, maybe Cristiano Ronaldo was the shyest of them all. The children would come to the restaurant very frequently, almost every night of the week.”
Paula Leca later told her son the story about Cristiano Ronaldo and the hamburgers. Leca’s husband also encountered him when he was young because occasionally he would come to pick up his wife at night after work.
“It’s a memorable memory; it makes me burst into laughter when I think about it. It happened a long time ago. Ronaldo is truly a humble person. If Ronaldo invited me to have dinner, I would definitely agree. I want to thank him for creating an unforgettable time in my life,” concluded Paula Leca.
