6.7 million USD is the amount of money Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spent to own a super luxury villa in Oklahoma City even though he only stayed there for more than 6 hours a day.
This season, the Oklahoma City Thunder are invading the Western Conference. With an impressive 10-4 record, the young team led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is currently in second place in the Western Conference, behind only the Timberwolves.
As Shai became a legitimate superstar in the league, he was forced to get a residence befitting his stature, which he duly accomplished. Gilgeous-Alexander bought a mansion near Lake Ontario for $6.1 million earlier this year. Since Shai is originally from Canada, the decision to choose that particular location as his getaway was a no-brainer.
However, Shai’s notion of his ideal residence couldn’t be further from the truth. After just 48 hours of residence, the young NBA man and his fiancee made the decision to leave the villa due to a disturbing incident.
.
An unidentified man inquired about the previous owner of Shai’s residence, Aiden Pleterski, at his residence. Subsequent investigations revealed that Pleterski had tricked some of his investors out of their capital as part of a serious cryptocurrency controversy; Since then he has evaded capture.
Previously, Pleterski oversaw a cryptocurrency investment firm and was even called the “Crypto King.” However, he lost most of his wealth following the recent cryptocurrency crash and creditors are now pressuring him to repay their investments. Investors are said to have conducted multiple raids on the mansion in the past and threatened to burn the entire structure.
After several months had passed, Gilgeous-Alexander filed a petition to nullify the sale of the house. The Thunder Guardian wants to leave
on the grounds that he was kept in the dark about the property’s history.
