According to L’Equipe (via Get Football), Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly prepared to offload defender Achraf Hakimi this summer because certain club personnel feel he has a “harmful influence” on striker Kylian Mbappe.
Hakimi transferred from Inter Milan to PSG in 2021 for a transfer fee of up to €70m.
The international from Morocco played 41 times for PSG in all competitions in his debut season, contributing six assists in addition to four goals.
In his debut year at the club, Hakimi contributed to the Parisians’ victories in Ligue 1 and the French Super Cup.
Concerns have been raised about Hakimi’s performance since the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year.
Due to injuries and suspensions, the 24-year-old has only started nine of PSG’s twenty Ligue 1 games since December.
He was famously dismissed in the opening period of PSG’s recent league game against Lorient.
In their subsequent 3-1 loss to Lorient, PSG paid the price for his red card.
The full-back’s dismissal, according to the report, infuriated the club’s employees. As a result, he has apparently come under internal fire.
Hakimi has also been struggling off the field because of the impending divorce of his marriage to Spanish actress Hiba Abouk.
In addition to being under investigation, the former Real Madrid star was accused of rape back in March.
