Vinicius Jr expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo by commissioning an artist to paint a portrait of CR7 on the wall of his home gym.
Rene Makela, Vinicius’ artist, shared the finished artwork on social media with the caption: “The Wall of Idols.” Alongside Ronaldo, the painting also features portraits of Ronaldo Nazario and Pele, legendary compatriots of Vinicius.
In addition, the gym room of the 22-year-old forward also showcases portraits of basketball icons LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant. According to AS, Vinicius decorates his home training space in this manner to remind himself to always look up to the best in the world of sports and strive for greatness.
Vinicius’ home is located in the capital city of Madrid, Spain. Meanwhile, Makela is a renowned freelance artist from Spain who has previously painted portraits of Antoine Griezmann, motorcycle racing legend Jorge Lorenzo, and former baseball player Matt Kemp.
Vinicius is currently experiencing a happy time at Real Madrid. The 22-year-old winger is considered the present and future of “Los Blancos.” In the previous season, he contributed 22 goals and 20 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, helping the team from the Bernabeu Stadium clinch the La Liga and Champions League titles.
This season, Vini has made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists. Real Madrid is still performing well in the Champions League, having reached the quarter-finals and preparing to face Chelsea. However, in La Liga, the Spanish giants have shown a decline compared to last season, currently sitting in second place in the standings.
The league leaders, Barcelona, have widened the gap with Real to 15 points after a 4-0 victory over Elche in the early morning of today (April 2) in the 27th round of La Liga. Tonight, “Los Blancos” have the opportunity to narrow the gap with the Catalan giants as they face Real Valladolid at home.
